We all have unused or expired medications in our medicine cabinet. Often we don’t dispose of them because we don’t know what is the safest, most appropriate way to do this. The local Sanitary District has started a Pharmaceutical Collection Program that allows local low enforcement agencies to collect medications for disposal. For your privacy, transfer all pills into a Ziploc bag and deposit the bag into collection bins found at the following Police Departments: Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Danville, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, Walnut Creek. Liquid medications should be left in original bottles and placed in a sealed plastic bag to prevent spills.
